Ruby Red: A Portland SMASH! 03/18/2008

After a landmark performance opening for the sold-out Josh Gracin concert at Kells Irish Festival last weekend, things just keep heating up for The Red! How much could one local band ask for in a week? We started off getting our sixth song on Portland radio as New Country 98.7 KUPL debuted Smile from our new CD. The very next day KUPL played Beer In The Bathtub to promote the upcoming concert (and a GREAT radio commercial as well- thanks KUPL!) and, we got a fabulous write-up/ CD review in the Portland Tribune by Music Writer Barbara Mitchell! (link: http://portlandtribune.com/entertainment/story.php?story_id=120542564970358600 ) Still glowing, we returned home from the show only to find ourselves on KGW News Channel 8s coverage of the Portland festivities. Last night came the cherry on our Ruby Red Sundae when KUPLs Smokey Woods gave us an amazing on-air review of Sunday nights performance. Hearing him use words like “wonderful” and “excellent” to describe us on the radio was a moment we will NEVER forget!
